Directions to 203-205 Lincoln:
To get to Route 31,and Huntley Blacktop/Main street. From the East take I-90 or Higgins Road to Route 31 and go north. As you are going either north or south on Route 31, proceed to the intersection of Route 31 and Huntley Road/Main Street. (It's called Huntley to the west and Main to the east of the intersection.) The intersection is at the north end of Spring Hill Mall. Go east on Main, down the hill. Lincoln is the first street, just before the river. Turn right and proceed to the house.
General Site Work Schedule Information:
Our work schedule will be Wednesdays and Saturdays through site completion. In our work schedule, the 2nd, 3rd and 4th Saturdays of each month we schedule a Thrivent Build Team. Since this is a duplex, we can accommodate 2 groups on most days. Construction Specifics
Time
Habitat construction sites generally operate from 8:00 am to 4 pm. Volunteers are asked to arrive on time to sign in and spend the entire work day.
Skill Requirements
No specific skills are required, just a willingness to learn. Each site has an experienced project director to provide on-the-job training.
Release and Waiver of Liability
Each volunteer must sign a Release and Waiver of Liability agreeing to take personal responsibility for any accident or injury that might occur.
What to Bring
Volunteers are asked to bring their own tools such as hammer, tape, tool belt or nail apron, utility knife, safety glasses and carpenter’s pencil. We have a set of other tools, saws, drills etc. Please label your own equipment with your name as things tend to get passed around. If you have a favorite it's welcome, but be sure to take it home with you.
What to Wear
1. Wear clothing and gloves that are appropriate for construction work and, of course, the weather. Loose clothing can be dangerous around power tools.
2. Wear thick soled shoes.
3. Wear protective glasses.
