Day Out with Thomas 2009
Habitat for Humanity is once again providing volunteers for the
Thomas the Tank Engine Event at the Illinois Railway Museum. We need
300 volunteers to help with all aspects of annual event. Jobs include
parking lot guide, ticket sales, Thomas store, story telling, video
attendant/imagination station, crossing guards, line attendants, car
hosts and more. Volunteers will receive free parking and lunch.
Not only is a Day Out With Thomas a lot of fun, but it is a fundraiser
for Northern Fox Valley. Habitat partners with the museum by
supplying volunteers and in turn, the museum makes a generous donation
for every hour of volunteer work contributed. Monies raised are used to
support our building program. Volunteers must be 16 years of
age or older, great group event.
The 2009 dates for Thomas are: Friday August 14th, Saturday August 15th,
Sunday August 16th, Saturday August 22nd and Sunday August 23rd.

Dream
Builder's Soirée IV
Was held March 14 at
Geimer's Green House. Our goal, to raise money for our first
'Green' home construction project. The event was allot of work,
allot of fun and a great success from:

the efforts of our
dedicated volunteer team to getting the venue ready for the event,

to seeing the
greenhouse being transformed into a dining venue,
and watching our
guest have a great time.
We want to thank, our
Event Planning team, Geimer's Green house in Long Grove for a
spectacular setting, Chef Zee from Artistic Cuisine in Palatine for an
international dining extravaganza, our sponsors and everyone who
attended.

the most money to support our 2010 build program. The event is

change lives again next year.

Earth Day comes to HFHNFV
We support a number of
special events including special opportunities to support our build
sites. Details are on the
Events & Classes Page. One event brought Earth Day to NFV when
Sebert Landscaping of
Bartlett brought their landscaping passion to our homes on Lincoln. Their team
graded the property, planted trees and bushes and put down sod and seed.

Thanks for your dedication! |
